The MicroScribe MX provides all the features of the MicroScribe G2 in a lighter and more accurate package. The MX's articulated arms are made of graphite, reducing weight to as little as 11 pounds. Using the MicroScribe, the physical anthropologist can now collect landmark data by simply moving a stylus tip to the landmark location and pressing a button. This data is transferred to a PC or Mac via USB cable and can be imported into any program for further analysis to include 3D Spatial Reconstruction.
There are 4 models available. They differ in 2 specifications:
1. Degrees of Freedom (DOF) - 5 or 6. The 6th DOF allows the stylus to rotate about its longitudinal axis.
2. Workspace Size. Two sizes are available, measured in a spherical diameter: 50"/127cm and 66"/167cm. For craniometrics, the smaller will suffice.
All models come with; power supply, USB cable, hand switch, 110vAC power cord, user manual, Tip calibration fixture, master 3mm ruby tip (red strip denoted difference), 3mm ruby working tip, certification, 1 yr warranty, MUS (MicroScribe Utility Software)

MicroScribe/Morphologika Instructional Video
This video taken at the AMNH features Will Harcourt-Smith explaining the use of MicroScribe 3D digitizers from setup to data analysis using Morphologika. It is 35 minutes long, but well worth it for anyone who is interested in the use of 3D digitizers in morphometrics or as an instructional video to get you started with your new MicroScribe Digitizer. I want to personally thank Will for agreeing to do this. This presentation is completely unscripted and shot in very few takes which lends credit to Will's mastery of the subject
