Light enough to carry with you to the museum or field they capture 3D data directly to your computer via USB. The RSI Laser Scanner allows you to "paint" the specimen with a laser to capture its surface shape along with all dimensions in a three dimensional "point cloud".

MicroScribe/Morphologika Instructional Video
This video taken at the AMNH features Will Harcourt-Smith explaining the use of MicroScribe 3D digitizers from setup to data analysis using Morphologika.
